Marsha Scrogum, Clinical Consultant and Senior Physical Therapist
Marsha, RPT, MA is our Clinical Consultant and Senior Physical Therapist with over 30 years experience in health care. She has extensive experience in the field of rehabilitation and has literally worked in every possible setting throughout her career. Marsha also has a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has been a therapist, a supervisor, and a manager for large and small therapy companies, a comprehensive head injury corporation, home health agencies, and acute care hospitals. One of Marsha’s primary areas of expertise in addition to physical therapy is in clinical program development.
Our Clinical Consultant, Specialist, and Training Coordinators have developed many specialized programs in areas such as:
- Pre-operative hip and knee classes
- Balance
- Wellness & Senior Health Clubs
- Specialized programs for persons with Alzheimer’s’ Disease
- Continence Programs (and many more!)

Allison Christian, Clinical Specialist
Allison Christian, RPT, is our Clinical Specialist, centrally located in Liberty, MO. Allison received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University in 1998. Since graduating, she has practiced Physical Therapy in various long term care facilities in Missouri and Kansas. Along with providing treatment in various facilities, Allison supports our therapists in MO and KS providing clinical training and education to staff in documentation, clinical reasoning and development of comprehensive evaluations and treatment sessions. As a clinical specialist, Allison plays a critical role in Key Rehab’s quality assurance program and in enabling Key Rehab to be prepared to quickly and effectively address and respond to Medicare Medical Review issues as they arise, such as Additional Development Requests and RAC audits. Heather Steed, Clinical Specialist
Heather Steed, LPT is our Clinical Specialist for Central and Western Kansas. Her office is located in Wichita, Kansas. Heather graduated from Wichita State University with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2000. She has worked with the geriatric population since graduation in multiple settings including: home health, assisted living, rehabilitation centers, and skilled nursing facilities within Kansas. Heather assists our therapy staff with quality documentation, training on Medicare PPS, and clinical reasoning and in developing and implementing comprehensive therapy plans of care. As a clinical specialist, Heather plays a critical role in Key Rehab’s quality assurance program and in enabling Key Rehab to be prepared to quickly and effectively address and respond to Medicare Medical Review issues as they arise, such as Additional Development Requests and RAC audits. Jennifer Johnson, Director of Training and Staff Development
Jennifer Johnson, M.A., CCC-SLP, is Key Rehab’s Director of Training and Staff Development. Jennifer has 30+ years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist and has worked with the geriatric population for over 14 years. She has been in leadership and management roles for a variety of organizations and brings that expertise to her position in providing training in leadership and management. Deborah Nygard, Regional Supervisor and Clinical Training Coordinator
Deb Nygard, RPT, is Regional Supervisor for Tennessee and our Clinical Training Coordinator. She splits her time between Chattanooga and Key’s home office in Murfreesboro. Deb graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA and has 34 years of PT experience in geriatric, pediatric and head injury settings. Once Deb began concentrating in the long term care setting, her experience led her to become the Clinical Practice Director for a rehab company, manager of the rehab department in a SNF, and then to a traveling PT.
