Following
a thorough evaluation by the licensed Physical Therapist, an individual
treatment program is established in conjunction with your physician. The
Physical Therapist will work with you to improve your motor skills. This may
include walking using assistive devices as needed, general mobility and
flexibility, and strengthening among other things. A Physical Therapist can
assist in pain management and healing following surgery, a fracture, or a soft
tissue injury such as a sprain. The Physical Therapist also works to improve
range of motion and strength at each joint and to maximize your ability to move
within your environment. Treatment techniques utilized may include physical
exercise, moving through a range of motion, stretching, strength and endurance
training, pain management, soft tissue mobilization, electrical stimulation,
hydrotherapy, and therapeutic heat and cold treatments.
